Tiong Bahru Community Centre Youth Executive Committee,  Kim Tian East Resident Committee, Kampong Tiong Bahru East Resident Committee, Sarah Senior Acrtivity Centre and Sinema Mobile will be organsing Ten Cent Sinema on 13 March 09 at Tiong Bahru Community Centre Basketball court.

Ten Cent Sinema is a complimentary service to provide fun-filled evenings for the seniors to relive the days of open-air cinema and offer good opportunities for families to spend time and play together!

Ten Cent Sinema is an outdoor movie screening program under the Panasonic-Sinema Mobile programme to help promote the concept of active ageing amongst our greying population. Prior to the movie screening, Ten Cent Sinema allows the seniors to experience a one-hour immersive gaming session using the Wii consoles on a 16 ft x 9 ft giant screen. At the same time, the Sinema Mobile van would provide static displays and on-the-fly demonstrations of the basic filmmaking processes for interested seniors to pick up filmmaking, and tell their stories via the video medium, after they have witnessed how simple the whole process can be.

Collaboration with Hwa Chong Junior College on organization of Night Cycling February 11, 2009

Once again, Hwa Chong Junior College Outdoor Activities Club will be working together with Tiong Bahru Community Centre Youth Executive Committee (YEC) to organise a night cycling trip around s’pore covering places such as west coast park, east coast park, woodlands etc. The planning will start in early March 09 and the actual activity will most likely take place in the beginning of June 09.

Tiong Bahru Community Centre Youth Eexcutive Committee & Singapore Explorer Pte Ltd will be conducting the Singapore Harmony Tour, which aimed to promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation of Singapore’s cultural heritage among participants of different races. The purpose of the tour is to introduce the participants to have a better understanding of one another’s culture and heritage as well as to promote religious awareness to strengthen racial ties that can bind people together based on the conceptual of bringing peacefulness to the nation.

 

Date: 21 March 2009

Time: 9.00 am to 3.00 pm

Fee: $2 (Lunch at own expenses)

Assemble in Tiong Bahru Community Centre at 8.45 am

Tiong Bahru Community Centre Children Storytelling Competition 2009 January 19, 2009

Tiong Bahru Community Centre Youth Executive Committee & Community Centre Management Committee will be hosting a Children Storytelling Competition in Tiong Bahru Community Centre Multi-purpose Hall on 15 March 2008. The purpose of this competition is to strengthen participants’ confidence in speaking English, making English learning fun through storytelling as well as to stimulate participants’ creativity and improve their oral presentation skills. The categories for the competition are as follows:

1) Pre-school & Kindergarten

2)  Lower Primary: Primary 1 to Primary 2

3) Middle Primary: Primary 3 to Primary 4

4) Upper Primary: Primary 5 to Primary 6

Tiong Bahru Community Centre Youth Executive Committee will be organising a blood donation drive in Tiong bahru Community Centre, Multi-purpose Hall, Level 2 on 28 February 2009 from 1 pm to 6 pm. We are seeking for generous blood donors to come forth and do their part in this meaningful event.

So calling out to those out there who are above 18 and would like to give blood and save lives, come to Tiong Bahru to support us. See you there!

Year-End Street (YES) Party November 20, 2008

Mountbatten Constituency will be organizing a Year-End Street (YES) Party on 27 December 2008 to celebrate the re-opening of the Old Airport Road.  As part of the program to commemorate the event on that night, there will be a street dance competition. The competition is open to all age groups with no limitation to the number of team from each organization and the top prize is $1,000 in cash.

 

As a goodwill gesture, Tiong Bahru CC YEC would like to assist the organising committe by pulicizing this competition in out website.  For all street dance enthusiast, please complete lete and return the attached application form by fax or mail to Mountbatten Community Club by 28 November 2008.

In conjunction with PAYM’s 37th Anniversart Celebrations, PAYM will be holding it’s first ever outdoor movie screening on PA lawn in Kallang. This invitation is extended to all YEC members and Youth-In-Charge as a gesture to thank them for their continuous support towards PAYM.

 

Free flow of food and drinks will be provided for participants and PAYM guarantee an evening of entertainment and great fun!
